Great Fried flounder sandwich with caesar salad. . Don't come for the atmosphere, come for the food.

The food is great everything I have tried so far was very good. You will have to wait this is not a quick lunch place. Call ahead with order or be prepared not to go anywhere for a bit

Food is better than ok, price is high, steaks were tough... Expensive but middle of the road at best

My husband and I LOVE their Chicken Parm and pasta! It is sooo good. Thank you so much to the chef or chefs that cook them!

Was surprisingly good, had a cheeseburger that had a nice beef flavor and black eye peas which were good. My lemonade was also good, not to sweet but not sour either. Wife had the turkey wrap and she loved it. The staff inside was polite and fairly helpful. Only complaint would be lack of inside seating required us to sit at outside picnic tables, which was a little hot and had to keep shoing the flies away so they didn't land on our food.

I HAVE BEEN A PATRON FOR THE LAST COUPLE YEARS. THE FOOD IS PRICEY BUT PLENTIFUL AND VERY GOOD. THERE IS LITTLE AC IN THE SUMMER AND COOKS AND DELI WORKERS SEEM VERY UNHAPPY AND TENSE. A COMPANY IS ONLY AS GOOD AS THE WAY THE “HEAD MAN” TREATS THOSE IN HIS EMPLOY. WHEN THEY ARE HAPPY IT SHOWS. OVERWORKED AND SELDOM IF AT ALL APPRECIATED. NO SMILE NO WELCOME. NO COMMUNICATION WITH BOSS OR CUSTOMERS FOR THAT MATTER. I WONT BE BACK.

Varied, local produce...small market

Literally had to go back the next after the first time I went! Place is amazing. Fresh food cooked in the perfect way. Service is always wonderful and friendly as well.

The food is excellent and the staff are very helpful.

We always order the chicken pot pie or tomato pie to take home and bake. The chicken pot pie is frozen solid and can take up to 1-1/2 hours to bake, but it’s a delight on a cold evening. When in season, the tomato pie is fresh and equally delicious. Call first to make sure they have them available. Sometimes all the ones they’ve made have been set aside for customers. They’ll call you when your name comes up.

Local produce and other fare. Take out meals are great portion and delicious. Probably the best fried pork chops on the island.

This place is great but be prepared to stand in line...totally worth the wait. My BLT was so big it will make 2 meals. Now,let's talk Key Lime pie, out of this world. Just the right amount of tang. You really need to check it out.

We had been to the Angel Oak and just happened upon this place. Food was excellent and staff wonderful. We now have 2 destinations on John's Island: Angel Oak and Blackbird!

A true culinary delight. Great selection, great taste and a great sensory experience. Will be back every chance I get. Foodies will love it!

I picked up food during my lunch break, and it was delicious. This was my first time going, and I’ll definitely be back again. I ordered the Cuban sandwich which had lots of meat, pickles & mustard. All of the pies looked great though- will have to eventually try those!

Wish we lived closer. I'd shop here. Food was fresh and delicious. Not much seating inside though so consider the weather.

True Farm to Table. Fantastic Fried Chicken, also highly recommend the homemade dill pickles, and homemade desserts!

Stopped for lunch. Steady flow of customers but food was served fairly quick and was really good. Will definitely eat there again, but once it cools down. When its 93 degrees outside last thing you want to do is sit inside where it feels like air conditioning is non existent. Get that fixed and place would be outstanding.

Blackbird has phenomenal lunch options, service, and sustainability values. Would highly recommend for produce shopping, fresh seafood and meats, as well as a collection of craft snacks, beers, wines, and canned goods. But ultimately it is the daily rotating lunch menu(s) that take the cake. Definitely call order in ahead as they get busy!

This place is amazing!!! Sad news is that it has been closed the past two times I’ve driven from James Island. It still show as open on all the GPS sites, etc...call first! I NEED MY CHICKEN POT PIE!! Seriously, hope everyone is well.

Got the fried flounder and it was fantastic. Local flounder friend perfectly, and the housemade cucumber and tomato salad was very tasty and fresh. Can't wait to go back and try some more dishes!

Dont let the casual feel of this place fool you... they serve up some of the best homecooking you will taste in the lowcountry. I really wish this place had indoor seating and I would be there year round. They offer very generous portions at reasonable prices! There are great shaded picnic tables outside or you can pickup to go. Their desserts are so good too!

I eat here multiple times a week and the food is always good. It's not easy to find a place that is so consistent with their food quality. I also look forward to the daily specials on the menu. Keep up the good work guys!

Excellent fried chicken. Every side had been great, especially the mac and cheese. I wish there was more indoor seating, but it's more of a market and take away place. The banana pudding was also tasty and there was a lot of it in the to go container.

Staff very unfriendly, lunch not tasty.

Best fried chicken and desserts in town /for pick up after work or evening with friends They have it all, why not take the night off and let them do the cooking? I’m glad I did

Pretty cool little spot. Awesome sandwiches including the grilled cheese, po boy, and Cuban. The Hamburger was not very good in comparison. I also got the frozen croissants to bake at home, which were awesome!!

Small but nice selection of groceries. They make sandwiches which I have yet to try. I hear they are good.

Great service. Left us alone enough to talk about our day. Food was very good but the salsa was just a bit hot. We will be back. Same John's island restaurant as it was. Good Job all.

Great farmers market type place. A few tables to sit at for lunch (everything was so good) and a bunch of local meats, snacks, desserts and other food items. Definitely will be back.

My husband and I shared the fried seafood platter which was plenty for both of us and we even had leftovers! This was the best fried seafood we've had on Johns Island, surpassing Simply Seafood and even Fishers!!! 🙊

Great take out food and friendly staff. Very reasonable prices. The parmison chicken is very good with generous portions.
